45", K Model, Sportster HARLEY PARTS



1406-36A - AIR INTAKE, complete, ORIGINAL - $600, one only

Overall length 8 1/8". 1936 to 1940 - 45" Twins.

There are very good reproductions of these. 3 significant differences.

1)OEM covers are a one-piece stamping. Repros are 2 pieces welded together and polished on the outside for chroming. See bottom photo.

2)OEM back plates have a lot of detail and relief in the stamping. Repros are nearly flat. See bottom photo.

3)OEM back plates are around 0.035" thick steel. Stamping reliefs allow for more strength. The repros are around 0.045" thick steel.

For comparison, the 1406-36 has an overall length of 9 9/16" for 1936 to 1940 - 74" and 80" Twins.



1229-27 - AIR INTAKE CAP - $65

Note that original Air Caps were always made of cast steel. NEVER aluminum, bronze or mystery metal.

Made from an NOS part. Nickle plated. Cast steel, open backed, 3 1/4" diameter. 1927-1931 Harley-Davidson Twins.

Made in the USA by me, like all my parts. I have the mold and pour the waxes. Cast at a Texas foundry. Machined in my shop. Nickel plated in Texas.

4150-28R - REPLACEMENT for ORIGINAL HAND BRAKE LEVER, LEVER- Plain steel, $75

We made a new mold. These will fit original 4151-28 Brackets, as shown in above photo. All Models, 1928-1940.



4521-26 - SWITCH KEY, BERYLLIUM-COPPER SPRING ALLOY, Cadmium Plated - $20/pair, price reduction, I made too many.

Don't settle for poorly made steel reproductions. These are made from BERYLLIUM-COPPER SPRING ALLOY. Key Tang has same 0.040" bends as originals and the heat treating keeps it that way so the keys won't fall out when riding.

Open backed, 2 3/4" X 4". All letters in relief. Offered by Linkert in the 1930's and 1940's, usually with replacement carburetors. Made in the USA.
